The Tax & Treasury team is a critical part of the Terumo Europe Finance organization, responsible for safeguarding financial integrity and enabling strategic growth. This team ensures compliance with international and local tax regulations, optimizes liquidity, and manages financial risks to support sustainable growth & profitability.
Within the EMEA region, the department focuses on operational finance excellence—covering tax compliance, treasury operations, and cash flow management—while maintaining close collaboration with global stakeholders to align with corporate strategies. Acting as a trusted advisor, the team partners with senior business leaders and other Finance functions to deliver insights that drive informed decision-making and long-term value creation.
Through strong governance, risk management, and process optimization, Tax & Treasury plays a pivotal role in supporting business objectives and ensuring financial resilience across diverse markets.
Job Summary
The Treasury & Insurance Lead is responsible for managing all financial assets within the region, ensuring accurate cash flow forecasting and maintaining secure cash positions. This role oversees the proper processing of payments and actively contributes to finance-related projects across EMEA.

oversees the end-to-end payment process, cash pooling systems, and financing for affiliates
, while
maintaining treasury policies aligned with company goals
. The Lead
regularly reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence
, supported by strong systems and controls.
A key responsibility is to
monitor short-, medium-, and long-term cash flow forecasts
and
lead treasury activities
such as short-term deposits and intercompany loan management. The position also involves
maintaining effective communication with Terumo Europe management and the global treasury team
, managing banking relationships—including KYC requirements—and ensuring timely and accurate payments for Terumo Europe and its affiliates. The role includes
oversight of foreign exchange risk, defining and implementing mitigation strategies
, and administering credit card policies to ensure compliance.
In addition to treasury responsibilities, the Lead
manages insurance policies, renewals and claims
across EMEA. Leadership is central to this position: the Treasury & Insurance Lead
coaches and develops team members

builds strong partnerships with senior managers and stakeholders
. Acting as a role model, the Lead demonstrates company core values and promotes continuous improvement.
The role also includes
management reporting by leading monthly cash and bank closings
and monitoring KPIs for banking transactions. Compliance is critical, with responsibility to
ensure SOX controls
are executed, including monthly bank reconciliations and policy updates, and to maintain
robust risk management
practices across all treasury and insurance activities. Additional responsibilities include ownership of the EMEA travel policy, participation in treasury, insurance, and finance-related projects, and driving process improvements within the region.
Profile description:
• Higher academic degree in finance or applied economics or similar by proven experience;
• 7+ years of experience in Treasury;
• Experience in Insurance management is an asset
• Experience in SAP (FI) is an asset;
• Good understanding of end-to-end Treasury, PTP and OTC processes;
• Experience in leading a team
• Pro-active attitude, accuracy and strong communication skills are a must;
• Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken). Other languages are an asset.
