The sectors Q-Mass serve include Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Defence and Renewable Energy.

Founded in 2006, Q-Mass has grown to employ 40 people with an annual turnover approaching £12M from our base in East Kilbride. Following a very successful acquisition in 2024, which has enhanced the business even further, 2025 and beyond will be very exciting times ahead of growth and expansion for Q-Mass and as a result, we are now looking to expand our very talented workforce by recruiting a customer facing Commercial Manager and/or an Account Manager to report into the General Manager.

This Commercial/Account Manager role which reports into the GM represents a massive career opportunity for the successful individual to support Q-Mass' growth plans. This prestigious role will involve being the key customer interface between our Operations Team which comprises Operations, Production and Engineering. You will act as a key interface between the aforementioned internal departments, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.

In this challenging and very rewarding role, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage existing and new customer relationships at all levels to ensure constant communication is upheld at all stages of the customer journey.
  • Ensure a thorough sales process is followed to manage and close all quotations successfully.
  • Manage 3rd party logistics suppliers effectively on an ongoing basis for both Q-Mass and customer requirements.
  • Purchase and procure all materials and equipment from suppliers where necessary, ensuring the correct purchase order is in place.
  • Manage and oversee all sub-contractor activity to ensure the production plan and "on time delivery" is maintained for the end customer.
  • Provide customer updates at all stages of the process from order status, through production to delivery.
  • Engender a culture of 'Continuous Improvement' and embrace the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems employed by the business.

To be successful at interview your CV will clearly demonstrate:

  • A commercial background, ideally in precision engineering or manufacturing and ideally gained within Oil and Gas, Aerospace or Defence sectors.
  • Account Management.
  • Customer Relationship Building
  • Project Management
  • The ability to manage internal and external relationships, across customers, suppliers and all departments within all levels of the business.

Desirable experience:

  • An Engineering degree may be advantageous by no means necessary or essential
  • Build and maintain relationship with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Manage own workload effectively in line with deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritise.
  • An ambition to adapt, to develop new skills and be resilient and responsive to change.
