Role:
Senior Aerospace Analyst
Location:
Cambridge, UK (Hybrid – typically 3 days in the office)
Become a recognised voice in the aerospace industry.
Counterpoint Market Intelligence is a specialist consultancy providing deep, data-driven insight into global aerospace and defence markets. From OEMs and Tier-1/2 suppliers to investors, governments, and industry consultants, we work with key stakeholders to analyse market trends, forecast growth, and understand the technologies shaping the next generation of aircraft. Our clients rely on us for rigorous modelling and strategic perspective that few firms can match.
At Counterpoint, you won't just research markets—you'll become part of the conversation shaping them. Our team engages regularly with industry leaders, presents at conferences, attends major trade shows, and builds expertise that spans aircraft programmes, supply chains, and emerging technologies. This is a rare opportunity to develop a deep subject-matter expertise in aerospace, not just a generalist researcher.
The Role
As a Senior Analyst
, you will:
- Lead Major Research Tasks:
Independently investigate aerospace markets, technologies, and trends (e.g., "identify the top five trends in engine MRO" or "analyse the future technologies in the ECS market") and deliver high-quality, insight-rich outputs. - Manage Report Workstreams:
Oversee specific sections of report development, tracking timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring deadlines are met. - Drive Market Modelling:
Make modelling decisions, update and refine existing SQL- and Excel-based models, and estimate company revenues by programme and market segment (e.g., assessing Collins Aerospace landing gear revenue). - Support Clients:
Help respond to customer questions, providing thoughtful analysis and data-backed insights. - Engage the Industry:
Interview experts, speak with company representatives at trade shows and conferences, and gather first-hand intelligence to enhance our research.
About You
You are a curious, self-motivated professional with a passion for aerospace and the drive to become an industry authority. Ideally, you have:
- Experience:
4 to 8 years in an aerospace/defence role. This can include working within the aerospace supply chain, or working in an aerospace-related market analysis, business development, consulting, strategy, investment research, or a similar role.
Please note that we will specifically be looking for prior experience in an aerospace-related role – we we recommend making this clear on your CV. - Industry Knowledge:
A strong interest in the aerospace and defence industry, with an ability to discuss key programmes (both commercial and defence), suppliers, and market dynamics – and the aptitude to rapidly build knowledge in industry topics that are beyond your current experience. - Analytical & Modelling Skills:
Solid experience with quantitative analysis, financial or market modelling, and advanced Excel; familiarity with SQL or databases is a strong plus. - Financial Acumen:
Understanding of financial terminology, concepts, and metrics, such as profitability, cash flow, and return on investment. Ability to analyse financial statements like profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, annual reports and quarterly presentations. - Project Management:
Ability to manage research workstreams, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. - Communication:
Confident written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing industry experts and presenting findings to colleagues and clients. - Mindset:
Independent, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity—able to "figure it out" and deliver insights without constant direction.
Why Counterpoint?
- Industry Exposure:
Work with OEMs, Tier-1/2 suppliers, investors and other stakeholders across the global aerospace value chain. Attend major aerospace conferences. - Rapid Development:
Build expertise in the aerospace industry where your analysis shapes strategic decisions. - Collaborative Culture:
Join a close-knit, specialist team that values rigour, intellectual curiosity, and professional growth. - Ownership & Influence:
Be part of a small, entrepreneurial team where you can take real ownership of projects and help steer the direction of the company—your contributions will have a visible, lasting impact. - Hybrid Working:
Enjoy the benefits of a flexible schedule, with typically three days per week in our Cambridge office.
If you're ready to deepen your aerospace expertise and contribute to high-impact market intelligence, we'd love to hear from you.
