Location:

Employment Type:
Part or Full Time
Seniority Level:
Junior/mid level full time OR senior part time
Industry:
SaaS / AI / Gaming
About the Company
Arcanix is a remote-first startup founded by games industry veterans, building the first Strategic Operations Platform for video games. We simplify the complexity of running live service games, helping game teams make smarter decisions through data, automation, and AI.
We're on a mission to democratize game success — making it accessible to all game teams, not just the biggest studios. Our platform is already gaining traction, and we're looking for a Data Analyst to help us unlock the full potential of game performance prediction and strategic insights.
About the Role
We're hiring a Data Analyst to help us unlock insights from gameplay, sentiment, and attribution data to drive smarter decisions. You'll work closely with our CEO, development team, and game partners to gather, clean, and analyze data — supporting both manual reporting and the development of predictive AI/ML models.
This is a high-impact role in a growing startup, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to shape how data drives product and business strategy.
We're open to candidates at junior, mid, or senior level, and will tailor the role and support accordingly:
- Junior / Early Career: You'll focus on building your technical and analytical skills through mentorship and day-to-day guidance. Expect frequent check-ins, feedback, and opportunities to take ownership of your own tasks as you grow. Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are key.
- Mid-Level: You'll bring experience and confidence in your analytical process, taking ownership of your domain while still collaborating closely with others. You'll be comfortable managing your own workload, with regular guidance and support from senior members of the team.
- Senior: You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading on specific analytical areas and helping shape how we use data across the company. You'll contribute to process improvement, mentor others, and take an active role in defining best practices for data quality and insights delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Data Collection & Integration
- Collect, clean, and integrate data from diverse sources including game platforms, attribution systems, sentiment analysis tools, and gameplay telemetry.
- Design methods to align and compare datasets across different games while maintaining statistical integrity and relevance.
- Establish protocols for cross-game benchmarking while preventing data contamination.
2. Analysis & Insight Generation
- Build and refine analytical models to uncover trends, correlations (patterns in player behaviour), and actionable insights related to player engagement and revenue performance.
- Design cohort analysis frameworks (e.g. tracking rate of change by audience segments or player tags).
- Create manual and semi-automated dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI) to support demos, pilot programs, and ongoing product validation.
3. AI/ML Model Development Support
- Collaborate with the development team to support the setup and refinement of AI/ML models for predicting game performance based on LiveOps activity.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. product, marketing, sales) to identify business challenges and uncover insights through data.
- Contribute to the onboarding of game teams by providing data-driven support and insights during pilot phases.
- Report directly to the CEO and provide analytical support across departments to inform strategic decisions.
Tool stack
- Data & Analysis: SQL, Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy), R
- Visualization & Reporting: Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio
- Data Pipelines & Integration: Supabase, PostgreSQL, dbt, Airbyte, or similar ETL tools
- AI/ML Frameworks (supporting): scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- APIs & Data Sources: REST/GraphQL, Google Analytics, Steamworks, game telemetry systems
- Collaboration & Version Control: GitHub, Notion, Slack, Jira
- Cloud & Deployment: AWS / GCP / Vercel (depending on experience)
Required Skills
- You have at least 1 year of relevant experience with a solid foundation in data analysis, including cleaning, normalization, and validation.
- You're proficient in SQL and data manipulation and using tools like Python or R, or similar tools.
- You've built or contributed to dashboards and want to create visualizations that drive decisions
- You understand core statistical concepts and are curious to apply them to real-world player and performance data
- You're interested in AI/ML and excited to support predictive modeling workflows
- You've started working with data pipelines, ETL processes, and APIs — and want to apply them in a practical, product-focused setting
- You're curious about game telemetry, KPIs, and player behavior metrics, and eager to explore how data shapes game strategy
- You enjoy turning data into clear, actionable insights and are working on communicating them effectively
- You collaborate well, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute to team discussions
- You're fluent in English and open to feedback, learning, and growth
- You have industry experience (gaming, SaaS) or digital product analytics.
- You're organised, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced startup environment
- Bonus: experience with attribution platforms (e.g. AppsFLyer, Kochava)
Why join Arcanix?
At Arcanix, you'll be part of a passionate team shaping the future of video games.
You can expect:
- Real technical ownership: Your work matters, and you'll have the autonomy to make decisions and drive change.
- Remote-first flexibility: Work from anywhere, with flexible hours (although must be resident in Scotland)
- A supportive, inclusive culture: We value openness, collaboration, and personal development. You'll be part of a team that invests in each other's success.
- A competitive salary package: We reward experience and impact, and we validate strong candidates with opportunities to share in the success they help create.
- A creative, fast-moving environment — work at the frontier of SaaS, AI, and gaming. You'll help shape the future of how games are operated and experienced.
Pay range and compensation package
- £30–60k pro rata, depending on experience.
- We're looking for either a junior/mid profile full-time (1–2 years experience), or a senior professional open to part-time.
- High-impact role with ownership and career growth.
Ready to Apply?
If this sounds totally up your game, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact us at with your CV and a short note about why you're interested in the role.
