We're looking for a Health & Safety Specialist to support our Field Operations across the North of England, primarily covering the M62 Corridor (Warrington, Manchester, Sheffield). This is a field-based role with frequent travel, working closely with operational teams, contractors, and customers to promote safe working practices across all sites and activities.

What you will do:

  • Support, educate, and advise Field Operations on Health and Safety legislation, internal company policies, and industry standards.
  • Work with local teams to plan and implement actions that improve working conditions on customer sites.
  • Investigate and record workplace accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver and assist in providing H&S-based training.
  • Support completion and review of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and POWRAs.
  • Ensure all field-based employees and subcontractors follow safe working procedures and approved RAMS.
  • Arrange and carry out site inspections and internal audits across Field Operations.
  • Support internal and external H&S audits as required.
  • Provide accurate H&S documentation to support PPQ and tender submissions.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a field-based Health and Safety role.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (mandatory).
  • IEMA Environmental Awareness (advantageous).
  • Lead Auditor certification (desirable).
  • Strong auditing, compliance monitoring, and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence (company car provided).
  • Flexibility to travel within the North of England (M62 Corridor), with occasional travel outside this area and infrequent overnight stays.
