The School of Science, Engineering and Environment (SEE) is an inter-disciplinary School recently formed from the unification of three long-standing Schools at Salford. An opportunity has arisen to join research activities within the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department recently-awarded ESRC funded project. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to the development of an innovative AI-supported Peer Review Dashboard. The project investigates how artificial intelligence can be integrated into research funding review processes to enhance decision-making, analyse reviewer workload, and identify potential biases.

The Research Assistant will play a key role in both the technical development and the research methodology, working in close collaboration with project stakeholders and collaborators.

We wish to hire a research assistant to support the development of these deliveries collaboratively and project management. The appointee will join to the project team and will be involved in tasks including data collection, analysis, dissemination and planning. There is currently one part-time 0.5 FTE (PT) position available, fixed-term contract for six months.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research publications in journals and conferences.
  • Disseminate research outcomes in collaboration with the project researchers at relevant conferences, exhibitions, industry events (including seminars, workshops, etc.).
  • Undertake visits to project partners, both across the UK and beyond.
  • Hold regular meetings with the project team at different levels, and being pro-active with decisions and self-direction.
  • Carry out high quality research in line with the requirements of the current funded projects.
    Liaise with other stakeholders, both internal and at project partners as required to achieve the project deliverables.
