CLASS 1 HGV TRAMPER

LEEMILL industrial estate/ivy bridge.

Salary of £37,843. the rota of this role is 48 hrs over a 4 day working week.

2 ROTAS AVAILABLE, 4 ON 3 OFF OR 4ON 1OFF 4ON 5OFF(preferred shift )(to be discussed at interview)

Overtime is usually available within the busy period of the company but not guaranteed.

Nights out are paid at £26.20 (taxfree).

Dedicated unit for each driver,23plate MANtgx510/520 kitted for tramping.

We are seeking reliable & hard working individuals to join our team at Dartmouth crab company.

The ideal candidate would not be afraid of hard work, this job involves a lot of manual loading/unloading of the trailer. you will be responsible for loading your own trailers at various different ports across the united kingdom, and keeping the shellfish alive & thriving whilst in transit.

There is a level of fitness required for this role regarding loading/unloading etc.

Responsibilities

  • Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition & report any defects to the company.
  • Load and unload product.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with line managers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.

Qualifications

  • Valid class 1 HGV licence.
  • No more then 6 points (Ideally clean licence)
  • Proven experience in shellfish transportation is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A good understanding of UK road network.
