*Job Summary*

We are seeking a skilled day shift Control Room Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accepting recovery jobs sent from motoring organisations allocating to our drivers and technicians out on the road.

Knowledge in the motor industry is essential as you must be able to determine which of our vehicles & staff member you are dispatching to each job depending on their capabilities.

You will be dealing with anywhere between 50 to 130 live recovery jobs per day depending on volumes.

You must have experience in transport planning or transport job allocating to be eligible, When live jobs come in throughout the day you must be able to determine the best option to ensure the job is distributed to the correct driver or technician who is near to or will be near to once their previous job is completed. This ensures not only that the job is done cost effectively with the least travelling miles/fuel consumption and also ensures we arrive to the job in a timely manor as our performance figures are base on this.

You must update all of our customers with ETA's if running late.

You must update our customers if they contact us for updates on progress.

You must liase with the motoring organisations with job complications or any extra charges that may be required (extra labour/waiting time or specialist equipment usage).

You must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to work as part of a team.

You must hand over to the night team when your shift is over as to who is where and what tasks they are on with.

Good telephone manner needed.

Familiarity with Apex networks is a huge advantage when applying.

In a way it can be relatable to job allocating in a taxi company just with bigger vehicles with different capabilities depending on the job it is needing to attend i.e. we have service vans with technicians for roadside repairs and various size recovery vehicles depending on what type of casualty vehicle needs to be recovered.

This is for a day shift position 8am - 5pm Mon-Fri with occasional overtime and weekend coverage when other staff members are on holiday etc.
