Cafe Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service in a vibrant café environment. This role involves supporting food and beverage service, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers with a welcoming attitude, taking orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee as a barista if experienced
• Assist with food preparation tasks to support kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
• Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts
• Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system
• Support team members during busy periods to deliver exceptional customer experiences

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or restaurant environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
• Barista experience is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £10.00-£12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 25 per week

Work Location: In person
