Technical Architect Consultant | UK | £55,000 - £70,000 | SC Eligible

Our client, a growing and values-driven technology consultancy, is on the lookout for a Technical Architect Consultant to help shape, design, and deliver impactful digital solutions for both government and commercial clients.

The Role

As a
Technical Architect Consultant
, you'll work at the heart of multidisciplinary teams to design technical architectures that balance user needs, business goals, and engineering best practices.

You'll collaborate with engineers, delivery leads, and client stakeholders to:

  • Design and guide scalable, robust, and secure solutions
  • Take ownership of architectural decisions and communicate them clearly
  • Navigate architecture governance and review processes
  • Support delivery teams in implementing your designs

UK Security Clearance (SC)
or
eligibility to obtain it
is required due to project work with UK clients.


Essential Experience

You may not have held the exact title of "Technical Architect" before — and that's okay. What matters is your ability to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering technical solutions
  • Applying architecture patterns and principles in real-world contexts
  • Creating clear technical diagrams (UML, C4, etc.)
  • Collaborating with teams and stakeholders to agree on design approaches
  • Identifying and resolving risks in technical designs
  • Participating in architecture governance or technical reviews


Consultancy Skills

Beyond the technical, we're looking for someone who can:

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Approach problem-solving with structure and clarity
  • Adapt and collaborate as part of a team
  • Show curiosity and a desire to grow professionally


Desirable (Not Essential)

It's a bonus if you have experience with:

  • Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Open Agile Architecture)
  • Designing cloud-based systems (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Security, accessibility, or sustainable design

If you don't have these yet, the team is committed to helping you develop them.


Salary & Benefits

  • £55,000 – £70,000
    per annum (Consultant level)

Location & Working Style

This is a
UK-based
