We are seeking an experienced
Senior Machine Learning Engineer
to join our client's innovative team working on an exciting ML/AI-based translation and multilingual search feature for an adaptive learning platform.

This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work across the UK, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain, delivering impactful solutions that enhance global learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable ML/AI services for automatic translation and localization of training content into 16+ languages.
  • Build and extend ML pipelines for document ingestion, translation, and progress reporting, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Integrate multilingual capabilities into existing RAG-based search systems, enabling users to search and receive results in their preferred language through semantic and text-based search methods.
  • Expose ML models and pipelines as APIs/services via API Gateways, event-driven architectures, or other interfaces, including handling large document transfers through pre-signed URLs.
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support multilingual translation and search functionality.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to facilitate seamless data flow and integration between ML services and the platform.
  • Contribute to UI prototypes to demonstrate new multilingual and translation features within the CMS.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality implementation within the project timeline.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing ML/AI models for translation and NLP applications.
  • Strong knowledge of ML pipelines, data engineering, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Bedrock, Elasticsearch).
  • Experience with deploying ML models as scalable APIs or microservices.
  • Proficiency in building multilingual search engines and semantic search solutions.
  • Familiarity with API design, event-driven architecture, and large data handling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Good communication skills and experience working with cross-cultural teams.
