Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the culinary field within a fast-paced bistro. We are seeking someone for a maximum of 4 shifts per week, day shifts only.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are kept tidy and organised throughout service.
  • Support chefs during busy periods by helping with basic cooking tasks as required.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food supplies safely and efficiently.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Participate in regular cleaning schedules, including deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and surfaces.

Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: £12.21 per hour
