About the Role

Highfields Academy is seeking a friendly, reliable After School Club Assistant to support its wraparound provision throughout 2026. This is a term time only position working either 3pm–5pm or 3pm–6pm. Job share options are available, or you can work all five afternoons per week.

This is a temporary post for the full year, with a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent role either at Highfields Academy or directly within Vara Sports And Education depending on performance, suitability and school needs.

You will help run a safe, calm and engaging after school club environment where children feel supported at the end of the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children attending the after school club
• Lead and support a variety of enjoyable activities
• Create a calm, friendly and positive atmosphere
• Set up and tidy away resources
• Assist with snack arrangements where needed
• Help uphold behaviour expectations and daily routines
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times

• Childcare or Early Years practitioners (Level 2 or Level 3)
• Individuals with experience working with primary aged children
