Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a CAD/CAM Programmer (Laser / Press Brakes) located in the Greater Stoke-on-Trent Area. The role involves programming CNC laser and press brake machines, interpreting technical drawings, and optimizing sheet utilization. The CAD/CAM Programmer will ensure the accuracy of machine programming to meet project specifications and collaborate with team members to ensure timely project delivery.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience programming laser, CNC and/or press brake machinery.
  • Have previous experience of using nesting software. – Amada Blank Cam would be an advantage.
  • Previous work experience within the manufacturing/sheet metal industry.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating 2D CNC CAD programs with the use of Amada CAD/CAM software.
  • Programming our laser cutting machine and bending paths for our ATC Amada press brakes
  • Nesting parts to ensure and maintain a very high percentage of material utilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with machine operatives to ensure smooth and efficient program execution
  • Continuously developing strategies to improve efficiencies and costs.
