About the company:

New Era Living Limited is looking for an Estate Cleaner to join our dedicated team managing student accommodation. You'll work closely with a small group of colleagues from both New Era Living and our parent organisation, New Era Development (UK) Ltd.

About the role:

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring our buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, visitors, and members of the public.

Main Responsibilities

Your duties will include a full range of cleaning tasks across the premises and grounds, such as:

  • Carrying out sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, washing, dusting, and window cleaning to agreed standards in areas including toilets, kitchens, the gym, reception, communal spaces, corridors, staircases, lifts, bin stores, and occasional urgent apartment cleans
  • Working outdoors as needed to clean pavements, walkways, and street furniture; gritting paths and clearing snow; emptying bins; and removing litter and cigarette waste to designated disposal points
  • Operating powered cleaning equipment, such as wet and dry vacuum cleaners and jet washing equipment
  • Providing cover for absent colleagues by cleaning any required area
  • Wearing appropriate PPE at all times
  • Following all Health & Safety regulations and reporting any hazards to the Facilities Manager or Health & Safety Manager
  • Carrying out any additional cleaning-related tasks requested by your manager

Experience required:

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years' cleaning experience
  • COSHH awareness is desirable
