We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AVP – FX Operations professional to join a Derivative Operations team on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day processing and control of FX transactions, ensuring accurate trade processing, settlement, and confirmation in line with Head Office rules, local procedures, and regulatory obligations. You'll collaborate closely with Front Office, Risk, and Operations teams across the EMEA region, contributing to a high-performing and well-controlled operations environment.

  • Location: Canary Wharf
  • Salary: Day Rate £250 PAYE
  • Hybrid: 2/3 days office based per week
  • Duration: Maternity cover contract up to 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily FX transactions accurately and on time, from Front Office capture systems through to accounting and settlement systems.
  • Oversee confirmation and affirmation processes, ensuring timely matching and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Monitor and reconcile Nostro accounts, escalating and resolving breaks promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy of General Ledger and DDA entries, and compliance with control requirements.
  • Support outsourced services to EMEA offices, ensuring service quality and adherence to agreed SLAs.
  • Assist the Team Leader and Section Manager in implementing new processes, procedures, and system upgrades.
  • Maintain and update desktop procedures, checklists, and perform UAT for system enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Front Office, Risk, and Operations teams.

Skills/Experience required

  • Strong understanding of FX settlements, CLS processes, and confirmation matching standards.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT MT and MX message formats and annual standards updates.
  • Awareness of ISDA, DRV, and FBF documentation, and related regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience in Derivative Operations or FX processing within a banking or financial services environment is highly desirable.
