Role and Responsibilities
This role will assist in delivering the indirect tax compliance processes, coordinating the preparation of tax packs,
in conjunction with local business units and taking ownership of the consolidated tax provision. The role will also
support the management of tax and transfer pricing aspects of the global operating structure and with managing
and optimizing global transfer pricing compliance processes. The successful candidate will manage shareholder
reporting requirements and will provide analytical guidance and support to the wider business in preparing tax
forecasts. The role will also work with the Treasury department where required.
Indirect Tax Compliance & Advisory
- Lead the indirect tax compliance process and work closely with the VAT team (Finance Shared Service Centre, "FSSC") to ensure VAT returns and other filing obligations are submitted to the relevant tax authorities (multiple jurisdictions) accurately and on time;
- Manage external provider relationships where forms are submitted by a third party;
- Review/ prepare and submit (as required) forms where work is performed internally (primarily UK);
- Work with external adviser to review historic submissions and submit corrections where required;
- Check invoices against the relevant routing to ensure correct VAT treatment;
- Provide regular compliance status updates to Head of FSSC and Director of Tax; and
- Act as primary indirect tax adviser to the business in conjunction with Director of Tax and external providers where appropriate
Supply Chain/ Logistics Operations
- Ensure that all supply chains are fully documented (Routings), and that compliance requirements for each supply chain (Organisations/ VAT / Finance) have been assessed and communicated to stakeholders.
- Develop an in depth understanding of the nature, operation and strategy of the organisation and the network of IAC's and continuously drive for improvement.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits (HMRC and other tax authorities as appropriate)
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree and relevant professional tax.
- Accounting qualification, e.g. CTA
- International tax experience;
- Experience in assisting with operational aspects of transfer pricing policies;
- Knowledge and experience of tax Reporting requirements;
- Ability to interface effectively and maintain good relationships with external advisors and internal departments in multiple jurisdictions;
- Good business acumen and judgement; and
- Ability to use commercial insight as input to decision-making.
