is delighted to be partnering with a successful company based in the South Bristol area to recruit a
Credit Control /Accounts Receivable Lead
to join their small finance team. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to take full ownership of the Credit Control and AR function across the business. This is an exciting newly created position, offering the opportunity to shape processes, improve accuracy, and play a key role in the company's financial operations.

The role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of the general ledger and to provide support to both the finance and sales departments. This role requires a strong focus on investigating and resolving discrepancies within customer accounts and payments. The ideal candidate will have a detail orientated mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for accuracy.

About you

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all incoming funds through the main business bank account and conducting forensic reviews of customer accounts to identify and correct errors. Accuracy is therefore essential, and you must be organised and possess strong communication skills. You will be AAT qualified or studying towards your qualification, have strong Excel skills, and ideally, working knowledge of Sage Intacct.

As a Credit Control /Accounts Receivable Lead, your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Investigate and resolve all issues related to incorrect allocations and payment discrepancies
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure all receipts are accurately applied
  • Liaise with internal departments and external customers to resolve allocation queries and disputes
  • Analyse and interpret complex account data to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Continuously review processes to improve efficiency and prevent recurring errors

What the client has to offer

  • A salary level between £33,000 and £36,000
