Could you lead the storytelling behind a major regional skills transformation?

Do you thrive in a role that's creative, varied and impactful, one day planning a high-profile conference, the next producing digital content that shapes regional engagement?

We're looking for a dynamic Marketing and Communications Lead to drive the communications strategy for the South West CTEC (Construction Technical Education Centre) Programme. This flagship initiative connecting education, employers and government to strengthen construction skills across the region.

Why this role matters

This is a rare opportunity to lead communications for a programme with real purpose and national profile. You'll play a key role in promoting innovation, partnership and opportunity helping the South West become a centre of excellence for construction education and skills.

Your work will make a visible difference: from developing an influential digital presence to delivering events that bring together industry leaders, educators and policymakers.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the marketing and communications strategy for the South West CTEC Programme.
  • Building and managing a dynamic website and digital presence that informs, connects and inspires.
  • Planning and delivering high-profile regional conferences, launch events and stakeholder showcases.
  • Creating and curating compelling content — from social media campaigns and video to news stories and reports.
  • Acting as a trusted communications advisor across the programme, ensuring brand consistency and impact.
  • Collaborating with partners, providers and employers to tell success stories and champion the value of construction skills.

Who we're looking for

You're an experienced communicator with the confidence to influence and the creativity to inspire. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

You'll bring:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing and communications activity.
  • Strong digital skills, particularly in website management and social media strategy.
  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • The ability to build relationships and influence at senior levels.
  • Experience in education, construction or public-sector communications would be an advantage but above all, we're looking for creativity, initiative and the drive to deliver meaningful impact.

What you'll gain

  • The chance to lead communications for a major regional programme
  • A varied, rewarding role where your ideas directly shape engagement and outcomes.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment that values creativity and innovation.
