We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team in a vibrant restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and production, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills while working under the guidance of experienced chefs, master the craft of whole deer butchery.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring all food is prepared according to recipes and standards.
- Support the kitchen team in cooking and plating meals during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow all food safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
- Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance on food preparation techniques and kitchen practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary training is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when supervising others.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
- A passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn and grow within the industry.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
