Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's early learning experiences while working within a supportive and professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Organise provocations that encourage social interaction and learning among children.
- Ensure the childcare environment is clean, safe, and stimulating at all times.
- Support the management team in implementing policies related to child safety, health, and behaviour management.
- Assist with organising outings or trips that enhance children's learning experiences outside the nursery setting.
Requirements
- Be available to work Monday - Friday, 8am-2pm and 12- 6pm on rotation (may consider only pm working)
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and junior staff effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and child development principles.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are required.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, creativity, and organisational skills in a busy environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
