We're a family run OFSTED registered care service. Our flagship home in Ilford is fully registered and recognised by OFSTED , with our Abbey Wood Residency OFSTED application in motion. Our expectation is that our Abbey Wood Home will be fully operational as an OFSTED registered facility in January 2026.
Preference for Abbey Wood RSW's applying for this role, will be given to individuals who're open to working shifts at our Ilford, IG3 OFSTED facility between now and the opening of Abbey Wood as a registered home in January 2026.
To provide advice, assistance and support to our young people. To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential. In a high activity-based placement. This is a 28-day crisis provision and you will be operating on mobile provisions such as Apartment and Mobile Homes.

Key Responsibilities
To work in a small team to support and implement the development of the children's home.
To enhance and effect change to the good of all children with whom they work by acquiring the necessary skills through their own training and development.
To be an effective member of the Bull Care Service team.
The Role
To ensure that the young people's needs are recognised and met. This includes ensuring that they are free from discrimination with the home and to challenge discrimination from outside the home.
To protect the young people from harm in and outside the home
To assist the management in the home in compliance with Ofsted, legislation and the ethos and policies of the company.
To exercise responsible control over the children to ensure their safety and wellbeing and assist them in developing acceptable standards of personal hygiene and behaviour. This also applies to encouraging children to abide by house rules and principles.
To participate in the development implementation and monitoring of the individual young people's care plans.
In accordance with plans for the day, to organise and supervise recreational and leisure activities both in and out of the home to provide the children with an interesting and stimulating life. This includes being prepared to spend time away from the home, on holiday and at camps etc.
To ensure positive participation in the company's internal training scheme.
To be familiar with and follow the Local Authority Child Protection Procedures and Bull Care Services team's Safer Caring and Child Protection Procedures'. All Information coming to the knowledge of staff must in the first instance be reported immediately to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Worker.
To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other professionals concerned with the welfare of the young people.
To use the home as a model to support and develop the social skills of the young people being looked after.
To ensure that the home meets the needs of the individual young people and the needs of the group.
To maintain a good understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
To care for children when they are ill and, where necessary, administer medicines, drugs and treatment under the guidance of the child's medical practitioner.
To perform household duties as required. This includes cooking and general cleaning, sorting laundry, checking children's bedrooms and encouraging them to keep their rooms tidy.
Adhere to the therapeutic philosophy of the home / organisation.
General

To share the responsibility for creating a pleasant working environment
To be flexible in house of work to meet tasks required.
To be aware of Health & Safety regulations particularly as related to the upkeep of the office building and its surroundings.
To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by your line manager or any of the Directors of Bull Care Services.
Maintain personal and professional development.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role with the organisation and the overall objectives of Bull Care Services.
Organisational
To undertake broadly similar duties commensurate with the level of the post as require by the manager.
To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities
To work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality in relation to all aspects of work undertaken
The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
The post holder will be expected to competently use electronic systems effectively.
The post will be expected to comply with the Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedures in all employment practices.
The post holder will be expected to complete with the no smoking policy in place and ensure that the Health & Safety is observed in the course of their employment.
Ensuring their compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the company, keeping the manager informed of work in progress and inform the manager immediately of any child protection matters or serious complaint.
The nature of the agency business means that tasks and responsibilities are sometimes unpredictable. Staff are therefore expected to work flexibly when the occasion arises where tasks which are not specifically covered in the job description, have to be undertaken.
On occasion, travel to other Bull Care Services and offices may be required to attend for induction, training, meetings or to provide cover.
Shifts and Requirements
All Shifts are 24hour shifts, you will live in with our young people and sleep in staff quarters.

Staff will be required to complete in house training and a full enhanced DBS will be needed.
A background of working with young people would be beneficial
A driving licence is not mandatory but would be beneficial
Working in a previous OFSTED environment would be beneficial
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: £246.00-£268.00 per day
Expected hours: 24 – 96 per week
