Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Co-op Full time £30,000 - £34,000 per year

Application Analyst
£30,000 to 34,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6B)

Scunthorpe (hybrid - working from the office several times per month)

We're open to applications from people who may require flexible working arrangements. You'll have the opportunity to discuss your needs during the interview process and at offer stage.

We're looking for an Application Support Analyst to join us in Scunthorpe, as part of our wider Digital technology & data team. You'll assist with the maintenance and improvement of the tier 1 systems we use across Co-op Wholesale, working closely with colleagues to understand their needs and translating them into actionable changes.

You'll manage the support backlog and our improvements 'to do' list, making sure these are prioritised and delivered in line with business needs. From analysing and understanding existing business processes and taking proposals to our Change Advisory Board to collaborating with third parties, testing, and deployment teams - no two days are the same. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team of Support Analysts and other IT colleagues, helping to make sure user requests and service desk tickets are handled successfully.

Why this role matters

We're entering a busy and transformative period within Co-op Wholesale, and this role plays a big part in supporting two of our tier 1 systems - those that are essential to supporting this transformation and delivering our daily operations.

What you'll do

  • Provide third-line support for tier 1 and other Wholesale systems, including data queries and issue resolution
  • Manage service tickets, change requests, and service improvements
  • Analyse current business processes to understand issues and support enhancements
  • Prioritise and deliver improvements in line with business needs
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams to deliver system changes
  • Build positive relationships with partners to understand their needs
  • Ensure service management standards are met, and systems remain reliable

What you'll bring

  • Experience working in an IT environment
  • Familiarity with web-based internet systems
  • Experience in analysing business processes
  • Solid SQL knowledge
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

We know some people may hesitate to apply if they don't meet every requirement. At Co-op, we're committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly, we still encourage you to apply.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we're owned by our members. And because we're owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a movement. We're an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we're powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you'll also receive:

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Wagestream - early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

A place you'll belong

We're building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and our support centre is an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can thrive.

If you have a disability, we'll make reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process. We're also proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme - if you're disabled and you meet the minimum criteria for this job, we'll guarantee you an interview.
