Energy Efficiency Contract Manager - Housing Association in Kent

£56,500

As the Energy Efficiency Contract Manager, you'll be responsible for using energy data to ensure we meet EPC C by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050. This will include design, procurement, contract management and delivery of works including resident engagement.

Reporting to Head of Strategic Asset Management

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Contract Manager to join our team as we strive to ensure all our social rent homes are energy efficient. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in contract management, domestic energy efficiency, energy data and sourcing funding opportunities.


• Provide input into our Asset Management Strategy to include how we will achieve EPC C by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050.


• Ensure that our Development Sustainability Policy promotes that our new properties are a minimum of EPC C, are Net Zero Carbon ready and align to the technology we want in our homes.


• Contract manage all energy efficiency projects with consultants and contractors from the planning stage, procurement, contract duration to completion, ensuring that resident communication is paramount and KPI's are delivered to receive grant funding. Projects should be delivered within budget, on time and ensuring excellent quality throughout the contract period.


• Manage and monitor the energy performance of our properties and ensure that they are compliant with regulatory requirements related to energy efficiency and carbon reduction.


• Ensure no works carried out have detrimental effects to our residents and their homes, we will not put residents into further fuel poverty.


• Report on progress towards achieving energy efficiency goals to senior management and stakeholders.


• Collaborate with external partners to secure funding opportunities, grants, and other financial resources that will support sustainability initiatives.


• Ensure that West Kent is obtaining maximum government grant funding for energy efficiency works and compile and coordinate any future bids for such funding, such as carbon credits, comfort plans, Warm Homes Fund, ECO, etc.


• Participate in the development and review of policies and standards related to energy efficiency and ensure that they align with regulatory requirements and best practices such as those identified in PAS2035.


• Research and recommend new energy efficiency technologies and practices.


• Represent the organisation at industry events and networking activities to build relationships with potential partners and stakeholders.


• Role model West Kent values.


• Undertake any other duties to meet the requirements of the role.

Person Specification


• Experience of Contract Management ideally in energy improvements works, including the selection of suitable properties, design, procurement, and contract delivery.


• Experience of previous waves of the Social Housing Decarbonisation fund would be desirable.


• Broad knowledge of the Housing sector and wider operating environment.


• In-depth knowledge in energy efficiency data including EPC data, generation of improvement measures for EPC scores and bandings along with carbon reduction practices.


• Working knowledge of building pathology, repairs, and maintenance processes within social housing.


• Ability to analyse and evaluate data, producing reports to present to operational and executive management.

Qualifications and skills


• Educated to degree level or equivalent, in Building or Construction related subjects or holds relevant Project Management qualifications.


• A goal-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving.


• Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, and well-disciplined


• Ability to work within tight deadlines while under pressure both independently and as part of a team.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Be able to influence and negotiate with residents, contractors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.


• Excellent ICT skills, competent with word packages including Excel and comfortable using mobile devices.


• Full driving licence.

Desirable


• Qualifications as a Domestic Energy Assessor and/or Retrofit Coordinator are desirable.

Hours of work

37 Hours per week - 2 days in office

8.45 – 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.45 – 4.45 pm Friday
