Special Education Teacher

Full-Time Ongoing Northern Territory Sponsorship Available

Are you an experienced and passionate Special Education Teacher looking for a rewarding role in Australia s beautiful Northern Territory? We are seeking a dedicated educator to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school community committed to supporting every learner to thrive.

In this role, you ll work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to develop and deliver individualised learning programs that meet the diverse needs of students. You ll make a genuine difference by empowering young people to achieve their personal, social, and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional learning needs.
  • Support classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and implement inclusive teaching practices.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment focused on wellbeing and engagement.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and allied professionals to provide holistic student support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to school-wide inclusion initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification with a focus or experience in Special Education.
  • Current (or eligibility for) registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education principles and diverse learner support.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
