Job Title: Children's Activity Leader (Half-Term Holiday Club)

Location: Twickenham

Contract Type: Temporary / Half-Term Only plus each School Holiday

Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00pm - Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and motivated Children's Activity Leader to lead our multi-activity holiday club during the half-term break.

Our clubs offer a fun mix of sports, arts and crafts, games, and creative challenges, giving children the chance to stay active, make new friends, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

As an Activity Leader, you will take the lead in planning, organising, and delivering daily activities, as well as supervising and managing a small team of Activity Assistants and volunteers to ensure high-quality sessions and excellent child care standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and deliver a varied programme of fun, inclusive, and engaging activities (e.g. sports, arts, crafts, games).
  • Supervise and manage a team of assistants, ensuring activities run smoothly and safely.
  • Provide clear guidance and support to staff throughout the day, leading by example.
  • Ensure all children are safe, supported, and positively engaged at all times.
  • Manage group behaviour effectively and promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Oversee the daily setup, organisation, and pack-down of activity areas and equipment.
  • Liaise with parents and carers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and club policies.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous experience leading or supervising groups of children in a club, school, or coaching setting.
  • Experience managing or coordinating a small team of staff or volunteers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Confident and proactive in delivering engaging sessions.
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service).

Desirable:

  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience planning multi-sport or creative activity programmes.
  • Relevant qualification in childcare, teaching support, sports coaching, youth work, or playwork.
