Head of Workplace Procurement
Who We're Looking For
The Head of Workplace Procurement is responsible for working closely with Workplace Services, managing the delivery of workplace procurement activity, across Hard and Soft FM, including capital projects such as refurbishment projects, replacement programmes, maintenance strategies and workplace fit-out schemes and UK property budget.
This role reports directly to the Group Chief Procurement Officer, with direct reports based in London.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.
The Team
Group Procurement is the centre of excellence for active commercial management of all of Schroders' supply chain, enabled by great people, disciplined cost management and seamless risk and compliance. Group Procurement sits within the COO Corporate Functions, supporting the wider business on all its third-party commercial activity.
The team are made up of multiple disciplines across Market Data, Technology, Corporate Services, Third Party Risk and Operations. Located across London, Horsham, Singapore, and New York.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage strong relationships with internal customers and external suppliers, ensuring Schroders has access to the best supply partners and value for money
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement category strategies for Workplace Services (Hard and Soft FM, capital projects, maintenance strategies, fit-outs and refurbishments), delivering quality and cost-effective solutions
- Oversee supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management, providing technical procurement expertise and championing best practice and continuous improvement
- Produce relevant management information to monitor supplier performance, generate insights and identify areas for improvement
- Support and develop your team, contributing to wider Procurement leadership growth, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Proactively identify and manage procurement-related risks and issues, balancing workloads and supporting effective team operations to deliver organisational priorities
- Represent Group Procurement in cross-functional projects, collaborating with Workplace Services, Finance, Legal, IT and other business areas to deliver seamless and compliant outcomes
- Drive innovation and sustainability in workplace procurement, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, responsible sourcing and environmental improvements
- Ensure compliance with relevant internal policies and external regulations, staying abreast of market developments, best practice and risk management requirements
- Contribute to business planning and budgeting for Workplace Services, ensuring alignment to corporate objectives and maximising value for the firm
- Act as a visible champion for Schroders' values, setting high standards for professionalism, quality and client service
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need
- Clear, concise and persuasive communicator who presents professionally and confidently to stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
- Significant experience in strategic procurement and category management within workplace services, including Hard and Soft FM, capital projects, and property budgets
- Strong track record of supplier relationship management, delivering procurement excellence, and driving continuous improvement and value creation
- Proficient in analysing management information and data to inform procurement strategies and support decision-making
- Collaborative team leader with experience in coaching, developing and motivating others, fostering a positive and high-performance culture
- Demonstrates high standards, professionalism and acts as an ambassador for the firm at all times
- Highly organised, able to prioritise, delegate and balance competing demands within set timeframes
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications That'll Help
- Experience with large-scale office fit-outs, maintenance programmes and workplace projects
- Familiarity with commercial risk management, supplier performance frameworks, and operating within a regulated environment
- Understanding of procurement best practice, continuous improvement methodologies and innovation in workplace procurement
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience of financial targets, pricing, and profitability management within procurement teams
- Insights into workplace trends, competitor activity and client needs within financial services or similar complex organisations
