Build a Career in Property with HMRC Estates
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the operational security team, where you will keep our people, buildings, and assets safe and secure. You will work with other Estates colleagues within your building to achieve outcomes. You'll use your knowledge to give advice and make decisions.
The role of a Regional Security manager is to ensure the correct posture to physical and tactical resource to manage sites and maintain operational preparedness for Security incidents.
Job Description
You will be responsible for assuring the efficient and effective management of all aspects of operational security for sites within your area of responsibility. You will contribute to managing the contract by being responsible for monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators associated with HRMC's external security service providers .
You will ensure that day-to-day responsibilities for building related operational security obligations are met in accordance with the National Security Policies, including those policies that are owned by other directorates and government departments.
You will operate in line with HMRC's strategy, Government standards and industry best practice to promote and enhance site security and preparedness to keep HMRC's people, assets, and buildings safe and secure.

Person specification
Identify, record, and analyse all building related security risks;
- Undertake Level One Security Assurance in line with documented processes. .
- Work with the stakeholders to support and progress Security initiatives and project work.
- Produce and maintain building security management documentation.
- Undertake regular security reviews to ensure controls are adequate and meet existing standards and emerging threats and risks .
- Work closely with the supplier with day to day activities and performance assurance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of physical security posture.
- Support and collaborate with the incident manager with operational security incidents in line with HMRC and cross government guidelines .
- Actively engage in any security exercises and initiatives Communicate security status, updates, risk and issues.
- Proactively seek out and develop and expand contacts and networks and share best practice from lessons learnt and networking in order to drive continuous improvement.
- Be visible and provide Security SME (Subject Matter Expert) advice.
- Management security systems access and disclosure of information in line with legislative guidance.
- Requirement to attend the office 60% of your time along with travelling to other sites and occasional overnight stays.
- On-call requirement for out of hours cover.
*Essential Criteria*
- Experience and knowledge of an operational security environment
- Experience of customer relationship management including dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven track record of analysing and resolving problems, developing opportunities, and implementing innovate solutions/approaches
- Able to demonstrate personal self-development
- Knowledge of operational security risk management.
- BTEC Level 5 in Security Management or equivalent qualification incorporating Membership of the Security Institute. If not already held, you must be willing to obtain within 2 years.
- Threat and Risk Analysis Training Pathway incorporating BTEC Level 4 in Security Coordination and Design, if not already held, you must be willing to obtain within 2 years.

Due to operational needs, these post are full-time; however, applicants who need to work a more flexible arrangement are welcome to apply. To achieve our Customer Service ambitions the successful candidate would be expected to work full time in a flexible way. this would see staff routinely working Mon- Fri but allow flexibility for evening work to 8pm and occasional Saturday work in line with business need.
in addition to this you will need to be available for out of hours "On Call" as needed in order to respond to ay incidents.

Sift
