We're now looking for a proactive and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support the delivery of high-value, complex capital projects. Acting as a key advisor to Project Delivery teams, you'll provide challenge, insight, and financial leadership from project inception through to completion and handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Project Delivery teams throughout the full project lifecycle – from budgeting and planning through to completion and close-out.
  • Delivering robust budgets, tracking and reporting spend and contingency movements, and managing project risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting cost optimisation through effective challenge during planning, costing, and tendering phases, ensuring assumptions are sound and value for money is achieved.
  • Designing and delivering financial and non-financial analysis and insight to support key decisions on budget, timetable, and scope.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Merlin Magic Making (MMM) and Group policies, processes, and controls – including ownership of financial due diligence on suppliers.
  • Coordinating input from cross-functional stakeholders on key assumptions impacting capital costs.
  • Managing project close and ensuring a smooth handover to operational finance and internal clients.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Exceptional communicator, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Advanced Excel skills with a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments, desirable
  • Open to occasional domestic and international travel, to visit sites or attractions
