Stroud District Council is an ambitious organisation committed to putting our residents and communities at the heart of what we do. Our friendly and inclusive environment supports colleagues to develop and thrive. If this sounds like the kind of place you'd like to work, then we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and innovative team in a newly created role. The purpose of the Data Analyst and Mapping Officer role is to support data-driven decision-making across the council by collecting, analysing and visualising data with a specific focus on health inequalities.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for:
Working closely with teams across the council and external partners to ensure the emerging Health Inequalities Strategy is grounded in robust evidence and local intelligence.
Collating and integrating complex data from multiple sources and converting it into useable business intelligence.
Identifying patterns, trends and disparities in health outcomes data to make recommendations and generate actionable insights.
Who should apply?
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual who has proven experience in data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and who will bring positive energy to the role. To be successful, you will also need:
To be proactive and organised;
To be an excellent and effective communicator to diverse audiences of varying seniority;
Experience in dealing with people at a range of levels within an organisation;
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and interpret data and effectively develop solutions; and
A willingness to adapt to different scenarios and build strong relationships with partners, operational teams and services.
Experience with additional data tools or platforms such as R or GIS systems, or working in a public health, local government or community services setting, is desirable but not essential.
Interviews for this role will be held on Tuesday 18th November.
For further information about this role or to arrange an informal discussion, please contact Hannah Barton, Senior Policy & Performance Officer, by email or Emma Keating Clark, Community Health & Wellbeing Manager, by email
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm we provide a range of staff benefits. Please click here for more information:
It is important that our staff reflect the diversity of our community, and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders and sexual orientation, those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, and people with disabilities.
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults, young people and children. Safer recruitment practices are applied to all job vacancies
