Part-Time Support Worker Required – Burgess Hill Area

•8 hours per week, split over 2 days (Wednesday & Friday 11am-3pm)

•£14 per hour for all waking hours

On behalf of our client, Head First is recruiting for a part-time support worker to provide 1:1 support to a lovely lady with an acquired brain injury, living in her own home in the Burgess Hill area. She enjoys swimming, gardening and getting out and about in the community.

Support is required with transport, companionship, helping on the allotment, meal planning and preparation (including shopping) and providing support after physiotherapy sessions when she may feel fatigued. The role also includes medication reminders, assistance with setting up appointments, and helping to organise daily activities and administration. No previous experience required.

If you are emotionally intelligent, have a good sense of humour, and can problem-solve while building a positive relationship, you will enjoy working with our client. You will also be collaborating with specialist health professionals and have an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills and knowledge.

Head First do not directly employ support workers, but we recruit them on behalf of our clients, and our dedicated and experienced case managers are responsible for the day-to-day management of the support team.

You must have the ability to motivate others, problem solve, require empathy and ability to change plans last minute if required to suit client needs.

•Previous experience would be an advantage, however, applicants with no experience but a willingness to learn, may be considered. Training will be provided in all aspects of the role required to support our client.

•Carry out household chores and prepare meals.

•Ability to communicate effectively, as part of a team and on behalf of the client who is limited in her ability to communicate her needs for herself.

•Full UK driving licence required with ability to drive our client in her own vehicle.

•Support to enable our client to be as independent as possible, including helping to manage day-to-day responsibilities, planning and organising social activities, and dealing with correspondence and personal appointments

•Have up to date DBS at enhanced level – paid for by the employer if you need to apply.
