Key Role Accountabilities

  • Preparing monthly Business Performance Pack and associated analysis
  • Consolidating the performance of all product lines within Specialty and articulating the financial narrative to senior management by highlighting key performance drivers and emerging trends
  • Liaising with Commercial Finance Directors across all product lines to understand performance, standardise reporting and ensure a consistent approach across the trading teams
  • Collaborating with Financial Control to gain transparency into monthly ledger postings, including payroll journals and accruals
  • Analysing Exceptional spend and ensuring correct allocation to business unit / project code
  • Supporting the FP&A team on preparing annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts and long-term plans
  • Supporting the business in M&A activities, with a focus on monitoring and evaluating post-acquisition performance.
  • Ad hoc analysis to understand trading performance and identify cost savings
  • Working collaboratively with the other members of the Specialty FP&A team

Qualifications & Capabilities

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within FP&A/Commercial Finance
  • Experience within the Insurance industry is helpful but not a prerequisite of the role

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail while maintaining an ability to see the "bigger picture" and challenge when something does not look right
  • Team player with a "can-do" mentality who is able to work collaboratively Robust and pragmatic, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and operate in a time-pressured environment.
