A vacancy has become available for a Loading Bay Manager to manage the day-to-day operations within the department, with responsibility for the training, development and management of 7 staff. They will be required to maintain and improve existing practices and operations to provide the highest quality product with respect to hygiene, product integrity and health and safety. Coupled with this good technical awareness, proactive improvement to ensure that customer and legislative requirements are adhered to at all times. With proven leadership skills they will be accountable for motivating staff, dealing efficiently and effectively with personnel issues and promoting a team ethos throughout their own area of responsibility and across the site.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

  • Efficient and effective management of the Loading Bay team, ensuring all functions are completed to the required standard in a timely manner; continuously striving to find new ways to improve efficiency
  • Ensure the department is adequately resourced at all times, maintaining and developing the appropriate skill base as required
  • Daily inspection of Loading Bay department to ensure maximum operating efficiency and completion of relevant documentation
  • Assist in the provision of daily stock reports and validation checks
  • Engage, motivate and develop the team to enable the achievement of KPIs and satisfactory completion of a tasks

Essential criteria:

  • At least 3 years' experience working in the food industry in a management/supervisory role
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Competent in record keeping and high levels of attention to detail
  • Understanding KPI's
  • Motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and flexible according to the business needs
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to complete quality checks, including carcase selection for lots going into the Boning Hall
  • Team-orientated approach to a busy working environment with a practical hands-on attitude
  • Have a working knowledge of Food, Hygiene and Health & Safety legislation.
