Hours - Evening and Weekends (typically 6-10 hours per week, with a minimum of 24 hours per month)

We're currently expanding our dedicated team and are looking for a Senior Sessional Youth Worker who is passionate, caring, and ready to create positive change.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Youth Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting young people through mentoring, educational activities, and behavioural guidance. This role involves working closely with children and adolescents to foster their personal development, confidence, and social skills within a safe and nurturing environment. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives while working within a supportive organisation committed to professional growth.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging educational and recreational activities tailored to the needs of young people
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to support behavioural development and emotional well-being
  • Foster positive relationships with children, adolescents, families, and community partners
  • Monitor and evaluate individual progress, adjusting programmes as necessary to meet developmental goals
  • Support children with additional support needs by adapting activities and providing personalised assistance
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and progress for reporting purposes
  • Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other youth workers and professionals to develop comprehensive support plans
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect in all interactions

Experience

  • Proven experience in youth work or related fields such as teaching, mentoring, or working directly with Neurodivergent children and young people.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of behavioural management strategies and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience in delivering programmes that support personal development and social skills
  • Prior experience working with children with neurodivergence is desirable but not essential
