About The Role
We are currently recruiting for Deputy Team Leader – full time, with prospect to progress to Team Leader. You are to work with a young man, living in his own home the Worcester area, which he shares with family, including their cat.
He has Cerebral Palsy, as well as other health support needs, and is reliant on others to ensure he can access all aspects of his busy lifestyle, both socially where he enjoys spending time with family, going to concerts and leisure days out, to those times where he is out at his ongoing therapies and appointments.
This young man requires 2:1 care during the day, and occasionally at night (night shifts are 1 x waking and 1 x sleep night when cover is required which is approximately once a month currently).
Due to his conditions, he needs staff who can support with an enteral feed (PEG), as well as personal and continence care during his day. Staff also need to be willing to support physio and other therapies including hydrotherapy (all training will be provided).
You need to be a driver, with a full UK licence, and feel comfortable driving an automatic large wheelchair accessible van.
You need excellent communication skills and a good level of English as well as clarity in speaking is essential due to the young man's communication needs.
The home is a completely non-smoking environment.
Deputy Team Leader Responsibilities:
You will support the Team Leader:
· Lead, supervise and assist in the provision of care and support to the client and the client's family.
· Plan, allocate and supervise the work of the care team.
· Produce monthly staff rotas. Organise and ensure cover for any gaps in the rota due to sickness, holidays, or other absences.
· Manage reminders to staff regarding training.
· General co-ordination and communication with the team in close co-operation with the Complexus Care Ltd Care Manager and Head Office.
· Have the flexibility to cover shifts in the event of sickness.
· Influence positive change within the team to improve standards of care and service.
· Be the first point of call for the team for advice regarding care issues and day-to-day management of the needs of the client.
· Undertake 1:1 supervision with the team and act appropriately on any feedback or recommendations.
· Monitor usage of resources and commodities, e.g., dressings, wipes, gloves, etc
· Communicate clearly, regularly, and efficiently with your client, team members and management.
· Promote and ensure the Company's good reputation.
· Work on a rota basis, including weekdays and weekends to cover day shifts and sleep shifts.
· Support this young man to maintain his independence by assisting him in all aspects of daily living, both at home and in the community.
· Follow an active weekly schedule, including driving to activities and appointments.
· Work collaboratively within a dedicated support team.
The shift times are as follows:
- Day shifts: 9.00am till 9.00pm (Monday to Sunday)
- Sleep Shifts: 9.00pm till 9.00am (Monday to Sunday) (9pm-11pm waking shift & 7am-9am waking shift)
What we are looking for:

· Previous Team Leader experience essential.
· Be a strong team player.
· Be capable of working independently using your own initiative.
· Use strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Be proactive, confident, and adaptable in different situations.
· Have an understanding of trauma-based care and learning disability. (preferred but not essential).
· Have an outgoing personality and a respectful approach to the client's needs.
Strong English communication skills are required and being registered on the DBS update service would be an advantage.
Rates of Pay: Up to £19.25 per hour upon successful completion of competencies and training.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check will be required.
