We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team within the collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire (BCH) ICT Department. This is an exciting role, often looking at the newest software and technology.
Working with the Principal Architects, you will assist in the design and implementation of new secure and resilient technical architectures for major change initiatives to support front-line policing, as well as regional and national software solutions.
You would do this by creating target architecture designs which align to customer's business requirements, taking account of the target environments, processes, performance requirements, existing systems and services as well as any potential security related aspects. You will also provide advice and guidance to non-Enterprise Architecture delivered initiatives, acting as a consultant to local technical managers on more complex initiatives to ensure that overarching architectural principles are reflected in the designs.
Join the exciting and dynamic world of policing and contribute towards making Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire a safer place. There are many benefits to working within the BCH ICT Department, including a competitive salary, agile working arrangements, flexible working, a public sector local government pension scheme and access to onsite gymnasiums at HQ sites. In ICT we recognise the value of an inclusive and diverse workforce.
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of a wide range of technologies and a self-motivated desire to learn more
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team, or to work on your own initiative
- Proven record in technology, network or application architecture planning, design and implementation including systems integration work
There is flexibility within this role for hybrid working, and you may choose your base working location from the three Headquarters sites within BCH: Kempston, Huntingdon or Welwyn Garden City.
You will be required to pass appropriate vetting requirements and to work across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, attend meetings (BCH & regionally) and to liaise and work with staff in different locations, therefore the ability to travel is essential.
For further information about the role please contact Stuart Luff via
