Early Years Deputy Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team, taking on managerial responsibilities in partnership with the manager and covering the managers period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in childcare and early childhood education to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing their management and leadership skills.
Duties
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early years frameworks with a small team of practitioners
- Nuture and mentor a team of practitioners to reach their full potential as early years educators
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery or childcare setting
- Oversee the day to day routines such as meal times, naps, and play sessions efficiently
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation, and professionalism
- Assist with management tasks as required, including staff supervision and organisation of activities
- Drive company policies on health & safety, safeguarding, and child protection protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated management or leadership abilities within a childcare environment
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring travel between sites or community engagement
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

The successful candidate will be available from pm daily, with hours to be agreed.

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
