Healthcare Assistant – Lung Cancer Screening Programme

 Location: South West – Covering sites in Cornwall & Plymouth. Flexibility in travelling to different areas in SW is essential.

 Salary: £23, £4,200 Car Allowance

 Travel: Full UK Driving Licence Required

 Shifts: 12-hour patterns, 3 days a week (8am–8pm), including weekends and bank holidays

Join InHealth's Lung Cancer Screening Programme and be part of a vital service that helps detect lung cancer early—when treatment is most effective. As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you'll play a key role in delivering a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused experience across our mobile screening sites in South West London.

What you'll do:
  • Welcome patients and guide them through their screening journey with empathy and professionalism
  • Support clinical colleagues in delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced, mobile environment
  • Assist with patient handovers between screening and CT scan locations
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data confidentiality
  • Help manage clinic flow, support scheduling, and respond to patient queries
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control
  • Contribute to a 7-day service, including bank holidays, with occasional remote admin work
What we're looking for:
  • Experience in a patient or customer-facing role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and patient management systems
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites

* This includes colleagues delivering face to face patient care in the Targeted Lung Health Check mobile units, Endoscopy, AAA Screening, Breast Screening, PET-CT, Audiology, Mobiles, Imaging Centres and CDC's. Note that this payment is not applicable to clinical staff working within the Echocardiography division, or Diabetic Eye Screening. The Weekend Payment does not apply to those on a flexible working agreement and part time workers that have requested to work weekend hours/days as part of their working agreement. The Weekend Payment also doesn't apply to those who are working remotely or carrying out administrative work from home.
