Create Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in South London to appoint an inspiring and experienced Head of Primary.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and strategic leader to take responsibility for the primary phase of a thriving SEN school, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and care across the department.

The Role

As Head of Primary, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the primary phase, ensuring the highest quality of education, behaviour, and pastoral support.
  • Embed a strong, inclusive ethos where every pupil feels valued and supported to achieve their potential.
  • Lead and motivate staff through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
  • Oversee the delivery of a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum tailored to pupils' individual needs.
  • Ensure robust safeguarding, welfare, and behaviour systems are in place and consistently applied.
  • Use data and self-evaluation to drive continuous improvement and raise standards across the primary phase.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, parents, and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to learning and care.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial leadership experience in a primary or SEN setting.
  • Proven success in raising standards and leading teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of SEN pedagogy, curriculum adaptation, and inclusive practice.
  • Inspirational leadership style – empathetic, resilient, and reflective.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and pupil wellbeing.
