Role

Compliance Chain are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional with a keen eye for detail to support our assessment activities across the company.

The successful candidate will lead on the evaluation of evidence submitted by clients; ensuring that each application demonstrates compliance with key industry standards (Common Assessment Standard and SSIP certification), whilst also providing clear, constructive feedback where additional information or corrective action is required. The candidate will work closely with colleagues and clients to support a consistent, impartial and efficient certification process.

This position requires a strong understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation and best practices within the construction industry, an excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply standards in a consistent and impartial manner. The role contributes directly to maintaining the integrity, credibility, and quality of Compliance Chain's certification activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess client submissions against key industry standards to verify compliance.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and constructive feedback to clients where submissions require clarification or improvement.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessment activities.
  • Ensure all assessments are completed in-line with Compliance Chain's client service level agreements.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve queries and support the smooth progression of applications.
  • Maintain and continually develop knowledge of relevant legislation and key industry standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our assessment procedures.
  • Support quality assurance processes to ensure consistency throughout our assessment activities.
  • Uphold Compliance Chain's commitment to impartiality, professionalism and customer service excellence

Skills, knowledge and experience
:

Minimum requirement to hold at least one of the following certifications:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Management in Construction
  • British Safety Council Level 3 in Occupational Safety & Health
  • NCRQ Level 6 in Applied Health & Safety
  • or any equivalent certification.

Applicants must also have:

  • Minimum of 2 years Health & Safety work experience (ideally within the construction industry).
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Health & Safety legislation, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and The Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Proficient in the use of various IT systems.
  • Effective communication; analytical and time-management skills.
