Connor's Toy Library is a Portsmouth based charity dedicated to giving children and families access to toys, play, and learning opportunities no matter their circumstances. We're passionate about community, inclusion, and the power of play to support children's development and wellbeing.

As we look to strengthen our Board, we're seeking
trustees
who can help guide our charity through its next stage of growth and impact.

We're looking for people with expertise in:

  • Finance
    – to help oversee budgets, funding streams, and sustainability.
  • Governance
    – to ensure we remain compliant, transparent, and effective.
  • Human Resources
    – to support staff wellbeing, policies, and organisational structure.
  • Sales and Commercial Strategy
    – to help us grow income through partnerships, grants, and community engagement.

What's involved:

  • Attending 6 board meetings (in person or online).
  • Providing strategic guidance and oversight.
  • Acting as an ambassador for Connor's Toy Library in the community.
  • Supporting the charity's mission to give every child the right to play.

This is a
voluntary position
, but the reward is the chance to make a real difference to children and families across our community.

About Connor's Toy Library

Founded by Dennis Connor lord mayor of Portsmouth in 1973 , our mission is simple: to ensure that every child regardless of background or ability can experience the joy and developmental benefits of play. We provide a welcoming space for families to borrow toys, connect with others, and feel supported.
