This role offers a unique opportunity to drive cutting-edge machine learning initiatives in a high-impact healthcare environment. You will own complex ML problems end-to-end, including fine-tuning and deploying large language models to optimize clinical outcomes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence technical strategy, shape AI system design, and implement rigorous evaluation frameworks. This position involves both hands-on engineering and mentoring responsibilities, guiding other engineers while setting high standards for production ML systems. Your work will directly impact patient care, making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and effective. Accountabilities:
· Lead the development and deployment of ML and LLM solutions for clinical AI applications.
· Take ownership of complex ML problems from exploration to production deployment and real-world iteration.
· Design and implement model fine-tuning pipelines, preference optimization (RLHF, DPO), and evaluation frameworks.
· Collaborate with Product, Clinical, and Engineering teams to ensure ML solutions meet real-world clinical needs.
· Mentor engineers, establish best practices, and raise technical standards within the team.
· Provide technical direction on projects and support junior engineers in problem-solving and implementation.
· Work across the full AI stack, including data preparation, model training, deployment, and monitoring in production.
Requirements· Extensive experience in production ML systems with a track record of solving complex technical problems.
· Hands-on experience fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying large language models (LLMs) in production environments.
· Expertise in preference optimization techniques such as RLHF, DPO, or similar methods.
· Strong ML fundamentals and ability to design rigorous evaluation frameworks for specialized domains.
· Proficiency in engineering production-quality code and understanding of distributed ML systems.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence technical decisions across multi-disciplinary teams.
· End-to-end ownership of complex, ambiguous problems from exploration to production.
· Experience in healthcare AI or clinical applications is highly desirable.
· Contributions to the ML community (open source, publications, technical writing) are a plus.
