SAP BTP Technical Architect

We are looking for an SAP BTP Technical Architect to join our SAP team in London. During your time with us, you will be exposed to a broad and interesting range of projects and support the Head of SAP in RFP, technical challenges or other demands on the practice/team

As a Tech Lead, you will drive the implementation of innovative solutions that solve complex technical and business problems, ensuring that all architectural best practices are being followed. You will need to have a strong technical background, be able to design app-level architecture, and have experience leading a team.

As an SAP BTP Technical Architect, you will define, evaluate, and recommend build SAP BTP centric solutions for our clients across all industry verticals. Working closely with our valued clients, you will help define core strategic roadmaps, develop SAP Architecture, and provide leadership in their transformation journey. With a deep understanding of other SAP solutions, you will help all stakeholders understand their future roadmaps from both a technical and functional perspective.

You'll also:

Advise or lead a team of onshore architects and consultants in the delivery of identified solutions.

Support the Architects in identifying skills gaps required to grow the practice.

Manage stakeholders of senior leadership within our clients.

Solution Architecture & Design (SAP & Non-SAP Cloud Application Development)

• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, and SOLID design principles.
• Define and implement clean, modular, and scalable architecture for SAP BTP-based applications — covering UI, business logic, integration, and persistence layers.
• Ability to design for extensibility, testability, and maintainability.
• Proven experience in multi-system integration, event-driven architecture, and API governance.
• Lead end-to-end solution design across SAP Fiori/UI5/ RAP & Non-SAP, CAP ),.Net, OData, APIs, and BTP services.
• Architect extensibility patterns for S/4HANA Digital Core (in-app vs. side-by-side extensions).
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and service-oriented patterns and ensure applications adhere to Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Define and enforce coding, design, and security standards across development teams.
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and Git-based workflows.
• Security & Compliance - IAS, XSUAA, OAuth2, JWT, roles/authorization management.
• Cloud Application Programming(SAP & Non-SAP)

Leadership, Governance, and Communication

• Lead architecture review boards and enforce solution design governance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving orientation.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
• Mentor colleagues on BTP best practices, design standards, and clean architecture principles.
• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, functional leads, and project sponsors to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Document and present architecture artifacts, decision logs, and Product/technical roadmaps.
• Experienced in leading Agile/SCRUM/DevOps projects

Application Development Governance

• Oversee multi-layered application development:

o   User Interface Layer – SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Build, React (if hybrid).

o   Application Core Layer – CAP ) or RAP (ABAP RESTful).

o   Integration Layer – APIs, event handling, and messaging through Event Mesh.

o   Infrastructure Layer – BTP Cloud Foundry, Kyma, connectivity to S/4HANA and 3rd-party systems.

• Define reusable libraries, design patterns, and framework components for project reuse.
• Support performance optimization, scalability, and security audits.

SAP BTP Platform Thought Leadership

• Thought leadership in the architecture, setup, and governance of BTP , entitlements, and services.
• Design microservice-based, event-driven architectures using CAP, Kyma, and Event Mesh.
• Define integration patterns using SAP Integration Suite, API Management, and Cloud Connector.
• Support in establishing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Git-based deployment strategies for BTP applications.
• Design data persistence models leveraging SAP HANA Cloud and external databases.
