Fractional Marketing Director
. This role is based on-site in Newcastle upon Tyne.
As Fractional Marketing Director, you will act as the strategic marketing leader, shaping and driving the overarching marketing vision in alignment with their commercial and growth objectives. Operating efficiently as a one-day-per-week fractional leader, you will provide insight-led recommendations, influence key business decisions, and translate departmental priorities into coherent, measurable marketing strategies.
You will focus on developing and implementing strategies to engage future and present customers, while setting the PR strategy and creating a visible, compelling brand. You will define a clear vision and actionable plan for the marketing team to execute while mentoring, coaching, and developing them to deliver consistent high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the strategic marketing leader, shaping and driving the marketing vision aligned to the client's commercial and growth objectives.
- Operate efficiently as a fractional director, delivering strategic impact one day per week while ensuring the marketing function is cohesive and high-performing.
- Partner with senior leadership across the business to translate priorities into coherent, measurable marketing strategies.
- Build and embed a performance-driven marketing culture, establishing clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability across the team.
- Appraise, support, coach, and develop the existing marketing team, ensuring delivery, process discipline, and quality of output.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and engage future and present customers
- Set the PR strategy to enhance brand visibility and reputation across target markets.
- Evaluate current marketing activity, identifying gaps and opportunities to elevate brand presence, digital engagement, and lead generation effectiveness.
- Implement reporting frameworks and provide regular performance dashboards and strategic guidance to senior leadership.
- Oversee agency and vendor relationships to ensure alignment with the broader marketing strategy and measurable ROI.
- Set a clear marketing vision and actionable plan that the team can confidently execute independently.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive senior-level marketing experience.
- Proven ability to set and execute strategic marketing direction while translating it into actionable plans.
- Experience managing and developing small, high-performing marketing teams, with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, influencing senior leadership, and providing insight-led recommendations.
- Expertise in brand, digital, CRM, lead generation, and PR strategy, with a strong commercial mindset.
- Experienced in setting clear visions, defining measurable goals, and creating plans for teams to execute autonomously.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on guidance, problem-solving, and operational execution.
- Strong focus on audience segmentation and targeted engagement strategies to maximise impact across employees, clients, and external networks.
