Contract Type: Temporary (1st January 2026 until 31st August 2026) with a view to contract extension.

Salary: Grade E (point £28,142 to £31,022 (pro-rata)

(Actual Salary £20,669 - £22,784 per annum)

The Role

The Governing Board of St Thomas CofE School are looking to employ an enthusiastic, hard working and motivated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and popular school. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude to all aspects of school life and be able to work as part of a busy team. Candidates must have the passion to act as a positive role model at all times, whilst encouraging all pupils to reach their full potential.

The position is to support pupils in our Nursery and Early Years provision.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
  • has excellent subject knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • is committed to ensuring that all pupils have the best learning experience
  • is willing to work as a part of a busy team
  • can act on their own initiative
  • is willing to support class teachers as directed
  • has high expectations of children's behaviour, wellbeing and academic achievement
  • has the passion to work closely with parents and carers, Governors and the wider community.
  • understands the importance of liaising with outside agencies to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
