We are supporting a high-growth, FCA-regulated Financial Services business in appointing a newly created
Director of Operations
role. This is a pivotal leadership position sitting directly below the Managing Director, designed to drive strategic and operational excellence across the organisation.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to join a progressive and ambitious business at a key point in its evolution. You'll play a leading role in shaping the company's direction, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring operational delivery aligns with strategic goals.
You'll oversee and empower Senior Management, who in turn are responsible for their own divisions, and work closely with the leadership team to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with a Managing Director and Board to influence and execute business strategy.
- Lead and develop operational teams through direct reports, each leading their own function.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and service delivery.
- Challenge established ways of working where necessary bringing evidence-based solutions to modernise and enhance performance.
- Translate strategic vision into measurable outcomes, focusing on quality, efficiency, and growth.
- Act as a key decision-maker in shaping the organisation's operational future.
About You
- Proven experience operating at
Director / Head of Operations level
within a regulated Financial Services environment. - A confident and commercially minded leader, comfortable influencing at board level.
- Strong people leadership skills with a track record of leading through managers and driving accountability.
- A strategic thinker who is not afraid to challenge convention and drive meaningful change – and can back it up with sound reasoning and results.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.
