We are looking for an experienced Sales Administrator to join a growing business with a welcoming, family-feel environment based in Hertford

This role is perfect for someone with a proactive, customer-focused mindset, who thrives on building relationships, providing outstanding service, and ensuring smooth sales operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Cross-collaborating with business departments to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Processing customer requests efficiently and providing quotations.
  • Following up with customers via phone and email to push for sales conversions.
  • Maintaining contact with customers, keeping them updated on outstanding requests, and liaising with manufacturers to close priority orders.
  • Effectively liaising via telephone and email with business stakeholders.
  • Building relationships with all business stakeholders to support business growth and efficiency.
  • Handling other ad hoc administrative duties as required.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will need to be organised and adaptable, with a hands on approach to complete outstanding tasks. We are a friendly team and all employees are encouraged to support any areas of the business which need assistance. The successful candidate will need to be outgoing, show a willingness to learn and drive to excel.

  • Minimum 2 years of internal sales experience.
  • Export sales experience is preferred but not essential.
  • High standards of customer service.
  • Technical experience from engineering or distribution industries would be advantageous.
  • Numerate – confident in calculating deductions, costs, and margins.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C / 4-5 or above).
  • Live within 15-20 miles of Hertford.
  • Can-do attitude, with the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
