Capital Analyst

We are supporting a global pharmaceutical client who are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Capital Appropriations Analyst to join their Finance team. In this role, you will manage capital appropriation requests (CARs) for IT hardware purchases, monitor spend versus budget, and collaborate with global teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track, raise, and manage Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) for IT hardware purchases globally, including servers and data center equipment.
- Monitor and report monthly on actual spend vs. projections to support effective budget control and financial planning.
- Proactively follow up with vendors to resolve invoicing issues and disputes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including hardware and fixed asset teams, across multiple geographies (e.g., US, China, India).
- Ensure accurate recording of capital assets in the fixed asset register.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to capital accounts.
- Support audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control of capital expenditure processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of capital accounting and fixed asset management.
- Experience managing capital projects or IT hardware purchases is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and communicate effectively with global teams.
- Experience with vendor management and resolving invoicing disputes.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to global finance operations and cross-border collaboration.
- Understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
- Experience in finance transformation or system implementation projects.
