Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of PSV vehicles. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with electrical systems, and the ability to work with a range of hand and power tools. The Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency and safety across our fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical issues
  • Repair or replace faulty components, including electrical wiring, motors, belts, and hydraulics.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large parts
  • Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical problems.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills

  • Proven experience in mechanical repair with strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialised machinery
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical assembly processes and equipment repair techniques.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately
  • Good customer service skills when liaising with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
