Job Title: AI Governance Consultant

Location: Remote (Occasional customer site visits)

Salary: Up to £80,000

An exciting opportunity to join a growing consultancy that specialises in digital services. This role will focus on ensuring AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and in line with regulatory and organisational standards. You'll play a key part in embedding governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with AI ethics and risks.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will lead the establishment and operationalisation of AI governance frameworks across both internal initiatives and client-facing solutions. You'll ensure all AI deployments meet the highest standards of ethics, risk management, and regulatory compliance. As a strategic enabler, you will champion responsible AI adoption across the business, helping teams innovate confidently, safely, and sustainably.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing and implementing AI governance frameworks, including policies, standards, controls, and lifecycle processes.
  • Maintaining an inventory of AI systems and use cases, assessing risk levels, and ensuring robust documentation.
  • Ensuring alignment with the EU AI Act, UK guidance, ISO 42001, and wider GRC frameworks, and supporting deployments with governance as an enabler.
  • Driving training, change management, and vendor risk evaluation, while reporting key governance metrics and risks to senior leadership.

What you will Bring:

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML risks: bias, drift, explainability, adversarial threats.
  • Experience in GRC within tech, cloud, or infrastructure, with ability to operationalise frameworks.
  • Familiarity with EU AI Act, NIST RMF, ISO 42001, GDPR, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration with business, legal, IT, and security teams.
  • Experience in vendor risk, auditing, or model governance, with solid data science literacy and communication skills.

Why Join:

  • Be part of a growing AI team, expanding from 4 to 8 members.
  • Work across a diverse client base, including healthcare, government, and finance.
  • Shape responsible AI adoption, influencing strategy, governance, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional experts on cutting-edge AI solutions.
